Deluxe Pool Accesories Kit
There is an additional $100 rental fee for the Deluxe Accessories Kit with the Spa ‘N A Box or the BPIAB rental.
The Deluxe Accessories Kit includes:
1 Blue bottom plastic tarp ~ or ~ 1 protective floor liner (8’ x 8’ heavy plastic sheet)
Protects your carpet and hardwood floors from water drips, spills and splashes.
6' x 6' 8” blue quilted underpads (2 or 3) - adds extra layers of cushioning under the tub and provides an semi-absorbent area around the tub walls in case of unusually large drips, spills or splashes. These pads are stain- & water-resistant, so if splashes are wiped up right away, the pads will stay relatively dry. Also provides a cushy layer for your midwife, doula or support people to kneel at tub side more comfortably.
Plastic foot tub (12 or 18 qt) - This is used to rinse feet before getting in the pool to prevent the accumulation of dust, lint and carpet fibers in the pool.
Small, hard Y-connector & Hose Cap - goes between the faucet adapter and the fill hose. This allows access to the water source without disconnecting the hoses, and allows an easy way to check the temperature of the water coming out of the faucet while the hose is still connected.
The Hose Cap prevents water leaks when the hose is out of the pool.
1 Universal adapter – this adapter will work on worn, damaged/stripped or non-threaded faucets. Hospital faucets are typically not a standard size, so if you’re giving birth at the hospital, you’ll need either this adaptor or the shower adapter.
Shower adapter – for connecting the fill hose directly to your shower pipe.
2½' clear hose w/ anchor tube - anchors the fill hose inside the tub to keep it from flailing around and squirting water out of the pool.
50-ft. clear fill hose(s) 1 or 2 - These are aquarium-grade hoses so that you don't use a garden hose to fill the tub; garden hoses are pre-treated with an algaecide that makes them inappropriate for filling an aquarium - why would you want to use it to fill the tub where your baby will be born?
10' clear siphon hose - Can be used to drain the spa/pool without contaminating the liner, in case labor stops after you've filled the tub, and you need to drain it and refill it with fresh water.
10’ drain pump connection hose (dark green) – connect this short hose to the drain pump so the longer drain hose (lighter green) doesn’t need go into the contaminated pool after the birth. It’s much easier to sanitize both the inside and the outside of this shorter 10’ hose than it is to get a 25’ or 50’ hose into the sanitizing solution.
25’ or 35’ green drain hose - for emptying water from the pool.
(I may have a 50-ft. hose available if you need it - please ask for it when you pick up the tub.)
Birth Mirror (Angled) – place this mirror at the bottom of the pool to help monitor the birth of the baby. This highly polished stainless steel birth mirror allows both mom and her care providers to have an excellent view of what’s happening. Used with the underwater flashlight, it will be easy for your midwife to know how you are progressing without disturbing you. This wonderful mirror was designed by a homebirth midwife in the UK.
Underwater Flashlight – This 5” x 1” waterproof flashlight will allow your midwife to easily see what’s happening under the water. The light from a standard flashlight does not properly penetrate water which makes monitoring the baby’s birth difficult. The smooth, intense white light from this flashlight will illuminate your birth pool beautifully – just turn it on and leave it at the bottom of the pool.
Spare batteries – AAA – for the waterproof flashlight
Gloves (Sterile) - 2, for the midwife
Kneeling Pad – for dad, midwife or your doula to use at the side of the pool.
